Empathise – A commitment to understanding the clients’ business, their client base and business model and processes. Critical in this process is to clearly identify the product and or the services they are promoting. How they intend to generate revenue if any. A though understanding of where the application will be used and the target user base.

Define - Based on information gleamed from the empathize process, we set about defining the application and its functionality. The definition is worked through with the client to ensure that all their requirements have been addressed and understood. This is an iterative process, exposing the client to processes not previously considered by them.

IDEATE - From an idea, imagine or conception model of the application, engage to ensure all parties have understood the aspirations of the parties.

Systems Development

We specialise in the development of web-based client server applications. We prefer to develop using a three-tier model with:
• A relational database backend (MSSQL server, MySQL or other industry stand SQL server)
• A server-side layer using 256-bit encrypted database access for maximum information security
• A browser layer built on Mobile first technologies and dynamic screen generation.
The three-tier architecture enables Ortex to optimise the application performance across networks, while delivering a content rich performance. Data security is a prime consideration and is enforces by storing sensitive information in an encrypted database well away from clawers etc.

Systems Installation and Support

Quality control is an essential element of product development. Ninety percent of all installations and support calls start with ‘How do I’, not ‘the systems is not working’. Fundamental in supporting our clients is product quality control. Applications developed by Ortex are modalized enabling each module to be tested and retested to ensure the module complies with its functional specification, free of coding errors and intermodal connectivity errors. This vigorous testing, ensures compliance with our quality control procedures.
Good user documentation is paramount in minimising client frustration and the need to ask the ‘How do I’ question.
